Small Excerpt
It had not yet begun to rain but the sudden twilight, the continual rumble of thunder sounding in the distance and the wild flashes of lightening told it’s own story. Bad weather was imminent, a storm could well be brewing and once again, the early cloak of darkness, would serve as the cover for evil intent.
The Sheriff had called the meeting himself. They had gathered together at the usual meeting place to discuss the coming lynching. Suddenly, Keleb exclaimed, startled.
“What the dang hell was that?”
The men exchanged glances and looked around, then they looked at Keleb puzzled.
“What you talking about?” they questioned in unison.
And as they schemed and plotted their next move, how were they to know that unseen eyes watched their every motion, unseen ears listened to their every conversation of conspiracy and that their time of retribution was fast approaching.
And he who has been to the other side and come back. Why was he allowed to come back? How has this experience changed him? Could he ever be the same again? Could he change anything? After all, evil was commonplace in his environment and had been so for hundreds of years.
